TOTAL HIP REPLACEMENT

REVISION

Revision Total Hip Replacement is all about planning and knowing what is available.

Revision surgery involves clearly identifying the bone loss and good anchoring bone. CT scanning and storage of the DICOM data. Off the shelf implants can suffice but a custom implant is often cheaper and more efficient for both surgeon and patient.
Ossis (A Zimmer-Biomet company now) can help with possible solutions and advice including suggestions which may not necessarily involve custom implants.

The osseo-integration surface is shown with pore size of 1.2 mm, material TiAl6V4, which is grown with EBM on the bone apposition surface. This case was the very first case in the world done for a Plasmacytoma 2006, iteration one.
The patient remains well with all the bone regenerated and the implant osseo-integrated. The bearing has changed by me from  from MoM to CoPE though. The author has done in excess of 36 cases often to salvage re-revision cases. There are tricks and feel free to call or contact me.  I am not connected with Z-B in any way and have no financial involvement.
